Project Description: Protect the La Familia Nature Center in Mission Texas from the rising flood waters of the Rio Grande. It was the last building in Benson Park that had not been flooded.
For centuries, sand bags and man-made earthen barriers were used to hold back sudden increases in water levels that threaten homes and buildings around the globe. Unfortunately, these types of water barriers are time consuming, labor intensive and often prone to failure.
Most experts agree cofferdams are the best solution for flood control; and Dam-It Dams cofferdams are a preferred choice because they are adaptable, readily available and easily transportable. In addition, our cofferdams can be arranged in any configuration, from square and rectangular to round or triangular. And when the flood waters recede, they can be removed without leaving a footprint on the environment.
